Wooden walkways connect the secluded suite to the central lodge which boasts an open-plan lounge, bar, wine cellar, TV room and dining area. As children under the age of 10 are not accommodated in the main lodge, Madikwe Hills is the perfect romantic escape.

The reserve is home to all of the ‘Big 5’ of Africa (lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard) as well as rare African Wild Dog, cheetah, eland, kudu, giraffe and a range of more than 300 resident and migratory species of birds. Wildlife can be viewed on twice daily game drives at Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge, walking safaris, and from the privacy of your suite deck.

Meals are served on the main deck overlooking a busy waterhole, in our traditional boma, in our sophisticated dining room or from the comfort of your very own balcony. A private dinner on the deck of your suite is offered to couples wanting to spend time together in privacy and is a perfect end to the ultimate safari experience.

Madikwe Game Reserve can be found in the North West Province of South Africa, on the Botswana border. Madikwe Hills is situated in the middle of the reserve and is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. This malaria-free game reserve consists of vast plains of open woodlands and grasslands and is dotted with huge rocky outcrops known as inselbergs.
