Third one of my Guiding career!!!
I don?t need to say more.
This morning was a winner. Just to see this specie that we have seen is a onetime experience for our guests. I have to say that all the Guides that were out on drive this morning, got the opportunity to see this beauty. This little guy got the whole of Madikwe on the radio and we had Guides from the South and the West coming for this Pangolin. Yes, your eyes are not playing games with you – it is a Pangolin!
What a week!
This week it was booming in the Park. The new Cheetahs where released in the boma but that is a story on its own.
Let?s start off on a feathery note?
Happy Memories
Can’t belive that it is now two years ago today that Steve and I got married at Madikwe. It was an amazing day never to be forgotten – not least because of the unexpected guest who was not too keen on us having out photos taken out in the bush!
One day we will make it back

Just amazing….
Wanted to test the blog out, whilst also saying what a fantastic time we had at the beautiful lodge, & we were lucky enough to be there for the fantastic first rainfall/storm, had an amazing few drives seeing lots of stunning animals & scenery whilst also learning lots about them. And enjoying little stops with drinks to take in the safari. The lodge we stayed in was breathtaking & the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, and made us feel very welcome, all in all we will definitely be back! 🙂 very BIG THANK YOU to you all xx

First rains in Madikwe
Our first rain for the season fell yesterday! It started with a bang, literally. Lightning struck between two of our neighbouring lodges causing the start of a fire. As always, the Madikwe family stood together like one and the fire was put out in a matter of minutes! Another fire started closer to the Eastern Airstrip, but the rain took care of that one!
We had approximately 12mm of rain since yesterday afternoon until this morning. 12mm is not a lot of rain, however it is wonderful to start a new day with the fresh smell of a ?clean washed? earth surrounding you. Knowing that the dust has settled awakens the anticipation for the green shoots to make their appearance all over the bush in the following days?
